We recently hosted our first ever Miso Tasty bloggers’ event at Miso Tasty HQ.
A selection of bloggers who write about all sorts from vegan cooking, to London life, to health and fitness, came to our kitchen to be introduced to Miso Tasty and learn about the magic of miso!
Sparkling sake was served on arrival, followed by Bonnie’s Miso Tasty story, and a brief history of miso. To get to know miso in all its different varieties, the bloggers tasted 5 different types: favourites varied amongst all our guests: many loved the sweet, young saikyo miso, while others preferred the dark, saltiness of the hatcho miso. We were able to explain how miso is made and talk about its health benefits and origination through this small selection of pastes!
We then served our miso soups with loads of extra ingredients placed on the table so the bloggers could see how easy it is to have miso soup as a quick snack 0r light lunch, and to turn it into a more substantial meal by adding noodles, tofu, salmon, pork, spinach… whatever tickles your fancy! Amidst lots of photographs, chatter and questions, Bonnie cooked up a miso-based storm. We wanted to showcase the versatility of miso by using it as a cooking ingredient in a few dishes: black cod with saikyo miso, grilled aubergine with hatcho miso, crunchy coleslaw with miso and tahini dressing, and the super popular, gluten-free white miso and chocolate chip cookies! There were lots of ‘Miso full’ bloggers by the end of it all!
The bloggers seemed to love miso in all its forms: in soups, on aubergine and in cookies. We were thrilled to be able to introduce them to the wonderful world of miso, and inspire them to use and enjoy miso more often in their lifestyles!
We’ve already had some lovely coverage from Eliza Flynn, Bloomzy, Alexianatouillia, and the two lovely girls who write at Soy Division Blog – it makes for a very happy Miso Tasty team to see so many people enjoying our products as much as we do!
